Home Moving Companies
I live in an old farmhouse in the Eastern Cape, and we are contemplating a move across the Atlantic. In America, there are home moving companies that would load the whole farmhouse onto a low loader and move it to a new location. If only we could do that internationally! But we cannot. Home moving companies in South Africa has a different meaning – here it means moving all of your possessions from one place to another – not your house. It has meant, though, that I’ve done a lot of research into different companies in this country, and there are plenty to choose between. Clearly everyone who is contemplating relocation cannot use one company – it just wouldn’t work out. So how do you go about choosing between them?
One way would be to draw the name out of a hat, another to choose the cheapest of several quotes – not necessary the best way to go. The choice I like best is that of going by a company’s reputation. If home moving companies are prepared to name some of their previous clients to whom you can refer, all well and good. The fact that a company has developed a good reputation over a number of years is always a feather in its cap. Active Transport is one such company. Started some twenty years ago, the company has expanded gradually into a company with an excellent reputation, and is certainly one I can recommend. It is difficult to choose when there are so many home moving companies on the market, so to speak, but when one can boast proudly of the service they have given their clients, it has to put them on the short list.
