There have been a number of removals scams reported in different parts of the world in recent months – what happens is that a representative from a so-called moving company comes to give you an estimate for a move – while he is in your house he takes the opportunity of “casing the joint” and gives a quotation for the move. On moves day along comes a removals van, gets all of your belongings packed away, and off they drive to your new address. The only problem is, they never get there, nor do all of your precious belongings. Which all goes to show that when you are planning a move, plan ahead, plan carefully, and use a well known company, preferably one that has come with a personal recommendation.
