Furniture Removal

Many people imagine that furniture removal is easy – you just have to throw everything into boxes, pack them onto a bakkie and that’s it. That conception may be fine for moving a couple of hundred metres from one flat to another, but over any distance it is far from reality. Furniture removal needs experts. It needs to be carried out by a company who do nothing but move people’s belongings every day. Active Transport is such a company. We’ve been in the business for 20 years and have an experienced and dedicated staff who have just one thing in mind – to make your move go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Active Transport was established by Gerhard Groenwald in 1989 and by 1996 was able to expand by acquiring the business Mini Furniture Removals. The following year we completed our 800m² storage warehouse in Pretoria, and it is from here that we operate today. We operate a fleet of red and white trucks – mostly Nissans, all of which are in excellent condition. The fleet ranges in size from a 3-ton truck – ideal for small moves from flat to flat, and 14-ton horse and trailer combinations, which are used for bigger and more distant moves. The greater proportion of our staff have been with us for the last ten years or longer and have all that time in practical experience, which they put to good use every day.
