Office Relocating

One of the things to remember when you’re considering moving your offices to another premises is that office relocating is a specialised service that not all furniture removal companies are qualified to carry out. A really successful move can be done over a weekend (or even, in the case of a small office, overnight). This means that your employees can come to work at the next scheduled time, probably on the Monday morning, be able to sit down at their computers and start work as though the office relocating had never happened. The bigger your office, the bigger the problems you are likely to come across soon after the move, so here are a few tips that might help you.

• Make sure that everyone, including the network supervisor, has backed up their files before the move.
• Check that the systems can all be moved with no damage.
• Ensure that all office equipment such as printers, copiers, computers and servers are to be packed in boxes and wrapped with bubble wrap.
• Check that all of the cabling and wiring has been completed and that there are jacks at each new workplace.
• Check that there will be adequate cooling at the new premises for your file servers – what is the best place for them?
• Is the electrical power going to be sufficient for your requirements?
• Are you going to have immediate access to the data on your servers?
