• Our Storage Warehouse Conforms to Insurance Specifications with 24hrs security, linked to an armed response.

• The Building is on a fully Fenced Premises with all windows roof Height!

• Customer sending goods to our warehouse are required to furnish us with a copy of their ID, contact numbers, email and address for communications!

• Charges for warehousing shall be due and payable monthly and in advance!

• Plastic Wrapping is highly recommended to protect Furniture & Items whilst in store!

• At least 14 days written notice is required before the removal of any goods from the warehouse.

• We will not accept the storage of: explosive articles, food, anything likely to encourage vermin or other pests.

• It is incumbent on the customer to oversee that no article to be stored is removed before the Removal Truck leaves!

Tips for Storage

• Dispose of any unwanted goods.

• Cover all mattresses, couches, etc. in Double Plastic and Bubble wrap glass tops, mirrors and pictures for the Furniture Removal.

• Disassemble any furniture that you are able to. This will not only make moving the items easier, but will greatly reduce the risk of damage and breakage to your furniture while moving.

• Tape any loose items together into a bundle. Ski poles, brooms, mops, and lamps stands can be taped into one package for easy transportation and storage.

• Wherever possible, ensure that all parts of furniture to be moved are kept together. Screws, bolts and other small pieces can be stored in a self-locking plastic bag and then taped to the furniture itself.

• Please secure mechanical/electrical appliances (bowls, motors of washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge, computers, musical instruments, etc.)

• Drain fuel and oil from lawnmowers, edgers, tolls, etc.

• Clean and Spray dog kennels, birdcages, fish tanks, etc.

Insurance

Please Note: It is subject to an average and full value (current cost) of the complete household including all effects must be insured. Insurance for less than full value will mean a proportion reduction in any claim.By Order: Insurance Companies!

• Please contact your own homeowner’s insurance company to determine what coverage you may have regarding relocation. Please find out:

  • If you’re current policy applies while your furniture is being loaded and unloaded?
    

  • Does your cover extend to apply during transit?
    

  • Does it protect you from fire, theft, dents, scratches and missing pieces!
    

• Active Furniture Removals offer two levels of liability protection:
  

  • Goods in Transit: Insurance against Fire, Overturning, Collusion and Hi-Jacking of Truck!
    

  • All Risk Insurance: Optimal Insurance for Furniture and Items against damages whilst being moved! Must be quoted separately!
    

• Clients must provide us with a detailed list of furniture stating the value of each item

• Owner packed goods or unpacked, unprotected interests will not be covered by the insurance policy! If you decide to do your own packing, remember that Active Furniture Removal is not liable for damage to boxes packed by the customer.

• Cash, Bank Notes, Stamps, Securities of any Kind, Gold, Silver, Platinum articles, Jewellery, Precious Stones, Medals and Documents are excluded from Insurance!

• Obtain a written appraisal of antiques to verify their value!

• Special items like collections, antiques, etc. must be brought to our attention and must have special wrapping and packing in preparation for your household or office removal.

• The driver has the right to refuse any carton that may be improperly packed.

• Some Items do not move easily (Glass Tops, Marble, Garden Statues, etc.) and if you can’t afford a loss then insurance is essential!

• Do not retouch, wax or oil wood furniture before moving. Some products may soften the wood, making it vulnerable to imprinting from furniture pads.

• Notification of any damage or loss must be reported in writing no later than 48 hours from time of delivery!
